Pedricktown – This past Saturday March 8th, residents from across Salem County and beyond flocked to the newly opened vineyards in Pedricktown to help celebrate the opening of the long awaited Salem Oak Vineyards owned and operated by Mandi Cassidy.
State Senator Steve Sweeney and Assemblywoman Celeste Riley were there for the ceremony and congratulated Mandi and her children Mathis and Julia on their accomplishment.
“We could never have done this without our government, our local legislators, our USDA and everyone. So, this was really a community ‘barn raising effort’ if I’ve ever seen one to tell you the truth!” stated Mandi Cassidy who is the owner of the new vineyard.
“Mandi, this is an extra ordinary thing that is happening here today and I know you have been working very hard over the past ten years. But, it has been a pleasure that we have been able to assist you making this dream possible. Not only are you bettering this community, you are bettering the lives of [those who live in] the whole of South Jersey and all the state of New Jersey for what you do here and what of what you represent,” said Celeste Riley as she took the microphone before the ribbon cutting ceremony.
The crowd then went outside and joined in on the ribbon cutting ceremony.
The vineyards’ building was crowded with laughs, cheers, and a community warmth that was felt by everyone who attended. We wish Salem Oak Vineyards and all involved good luck on their business venture!
