A viewing will be held on Sunday afternoon, March 5, 2017, from 2 – 4 PM at the Adams Funeral Home, 18 E. Maple Ave., Penns Grove, NJ 08069 and again Monday morning, March 6th, from 9 until 10 AM at the funeral home as well. Following the morning visitation a Mass of Christian Burial will be said at the Parish of St. Gabriel the Archangel, 369 Georgetown Rd., Carneys Point at 10:30 AM. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s RC Church Cemetery in Woodstown.

Antonio Savarese, 90, of Penns Grove passed away on February 28, 2017. Born in Naples, Italy, Mr. Savarese was the son of Antonio & Assunta Savarese. Like many who decided to come to the United States in search of a better life so he could provide for his family, he came here in the 50’s. Once settle, he would send for his wife, Maria, who was pregnant at the time with their daughter. After working several jobs, he finally got hired with Chrysler and would remain there for the next thirty plus years until retiring.

Throughout his life Mr. Savarese wasn’t one to do many things outside the home. His primary focus was his family and providing for them. He instilled in them the value of a hard days work, being honest with those around you and most importantly being humble.

His daughter, Dianna Venello and her husband Joe, two grandchildren, AJ and his wife Kristen and Michelle and a great granddaughter, Kamryn, as well as many more family members survive him. In addition to his parents, his wife Maria and four siblings, Vincent “Enzo” Savarese, and his wife Mariann, Pasquale Savarese and his wife Maria Teresa, Mother Superior Patrizia Savarese and Ninetta (Verio) Mattias predeceased him.
