Carneys Point Police Activity Log – Jan. 19th to Jan. 25th, 2015

CARNEYS POINT TWP., – The Carneys Point Police Department has released their most recent police activity log. DUI’s, warrant arrests, a burglary, suspicious individuals selling lawn equipment, motor vehicle accidents and more top this past week’s Carneys Point Police log.

On January 25, 2015 at 9:37 PM, during a motor vehicle stop on South Pennsville Auburn Road, Karen Gibson, 47 years of age from Carneys Point, was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. Gibson was transported to headquarters, processed and released per “John’s Law” guidelines.

On January 25, 2015 at 6:07 AM, during a warrant service, Briggitti Smith, 51 years of age from Penns Grove, was found to have an outstanding warrant for her arrest out of the Penns Grove Municipal Court. Smith was transported to headquarters, processed and lodged in the Salem County Correctional Facility.

On January 24, 2015 at 9:41 AM, during a motor vehicle stop, Rashica Daniels, 33 years of age from Salem, was found to have outstanding warrants for her arrest out of the Mid-Salem Joint Municipal Court and the Salem City Municipal Court. Daniels was transported to headquarters, processed and released with new court dates.

On January 23, 2015 at 8:38 PM, during a motor vehicle stop, Edwin Sanchez-Torres, 24 years of age from Newark, Delaware, was found to have outstanding warrants for his arrest out of the East Greenwich Township Municipal Court and the Pennsville Municipal Court. Sanchez-Torres was transported to headquarters, processed and released after posting partial bail on the East Greenwich Municipal Court warrant and given a new court date for the Pennsville Municipal Warrant.

On January 23, 2015 at 12:15 PM, while investigating a verbal argument, Jason Frankos, 41 years of age from Pedricktown, was observed driving away from the scene. Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop on Gary Avenue and Frankos was arrested for being under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. Frankos was transported to headquarters, processed and released per “John’s Law” guidelines.

On January 23, 2015 at 11:13 AM, during a warrant service, Jerome Parrish, 54 years of age from Carneys Point, was found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest out of the Penns Grove Municipal Court. Parrish was transported to headquarters, processed and lodged in the Salem County Correctional Facility.

On January 23, 2015 at 9:13 AM, officers were dispatched to a residence on Shell Road for a burglary complaint. Upon arrival, it was discovered that the burglar(s) entered the vacant residence and removed copper pipes from the basement. There are no suspects at this time.

On January 23, 2015 at 12:21 AM, officers were dispatched to a hit and run accident in the rear parking lot of the “Flying J Truck Stop.”

On January 22, 2015 at 2:11 PM, officers were dispatched to a residence on Manor Avenue for the report of a burglary. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the rear door had been pried open and the burglar(s) vandalized the interior of the residence. There are no suspects at this time.

On January 22, 2015 at 1:26 PM, officers were dispatched to the Penns Grove High School for a suspicious item. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the item was a small ziplock baggie, commonly used to package CDS, containing crushed pills. The item was recovered by officers and logged in at headquarters as recovered property.

On January 19, 2015 at 4:23 PM, officers were dispatched to North Virginia Avenue for three individuals attempting to sell lawn equipment to local businesses in the area. Officers searched the area with negative findings for the three individuals. A subject informed officers that the three subjects left the lawn equipment in the woods next to Napa Auto Parts. Officers recovered one Bolens push lawnmower, one Stihl gas weed wacker and one Homelite battery powered weed wacker. The items were taken to headquarters and stored until the items are claimed.

On January 19, 2015 at 2:26 PM, while investigating a suspicious motor vehicle on U.S. Route 40 westbound, officers found a maroon 2000 Honda Civic parked on the shoulder of the roadway unoccupied and running. The vehicle had been stripped down, the registration removed and all the vehicle identification numbers removed. The vehicle was impounded. This matter is under investigation.

On January 19, 2015 at 1:27 PM, during a warrant service, Kevin Whitesell, 23 years of age from Carneys Point, was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of the Carneys Point Municipal Court. Whitesell was transported to headquarters, processed and lodged in the Salem County Correctional Facility.

On January 19, 2015 at 2:20 AM, officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on North Pennsville Auburn Road. Upon arrival it was discovered that a single vehicle slid off the roadway, struck some trees and left the scene prior to the officers’ arrival.
