An Upper Deerfield Church destroyed by motor vehicle collision which, also, caused the Spring Street Post Office to close operations yesterday, Dec. 12, 2016.
Rosenhayn, NJ — On Sunday Dec. 11th a tractor trailer was reported to have swerved to avoid a car which pulled out into the intersection of Route 77 and Deerfield Pike (Rte. 540) causing him to collide with two other motor vehicles before clipping the USPS Post Office’s building then colliding directly into the church next door.
The Well’s of Salvation God the Father Church Inc. building, located immediately next to Upper Deerfield Springfield Street Post Office, was unoccupied and, fortunately, there were no serious injuries sufferred from the tragic motor vehicle accident..
The United States’ Post Office’s operations were temporarily relocated to the Elmer Post Office for the entire day on Monday, December 12, 2016.
The Well’s of Salvation God the Father Church Inc., near the corner of Route 540 and Route 77 in Upper Deerfield Twp. suffered major structural damage and is more than likely destroyed. View the video from SJFireNews taken Sunday night and photos from the scene and buildings presently.
According to USPS officials, “This emergency suspension of services was necessary to allow for a review of the damage and appropriate repairs.”
