Runnemede, NJ (I-295 Exit 28) – The South Jersey/Philadelphia Area’s premier gaming convention, New Jersey Gamer Con, will kick off this weekend on Saturday and Sunday Dec. 3rd-4th at the new La Quinta Inn & Suites in Runnemede, NJ. The second annual New Jersey gaming convention will feature an arcade, vendors, tournaments, consoles, special guests, contests and more.
Attendees can play a wide variety of games in the newly expanded Arcade, meet special guests, play on vintage and new gaming consoles, shop in the vendor room, join the LAN party, and sign up to participate in tournaments such as Super Smash Brothers and Mario Kart 8 for a chance at fun prizes. A Cosplay Costume Contest will also be held with prizes being given for several categories.
New Jersey Gamer Con, now in its 2nd year, is a convention organized by game enthusiasts who wanted to run a local event that represented area gamers and the games they love to play. Jerry Colonna, Gamer Con founder, says, “I wanted to build a convention that focused on bringing the local gaming community together, while also providing a fun, safe and open atmosphere for everyone to enjoy, from ages 1 to 91. I think it’s great that we’ve been successful at accomplishing that goal, and it’s so rewarding to see all the kids smiling at our events.”
Ticket holders who bring a non-perishable food item or an unwrapped new toy will be entered into a drawing to win a brand new NES Classic gaming system. Donations will benefit St. Rose of Lima, a Haddon Heights food pantry supporting local families, and Toys for Tots.
