Salem County to Offer First Time Ever Crusader’s Award
Salem, NJ — Freeholder Bob Vanderslice, Chair of Health and Human Services and the Salem County Office of Disability Services announce its first ever Crusader’s Award. Criteria will be the degree and durability of their positive impact on the lives of persons with disabilities within the County. Selection of recipients will be made by the Salem County Office of Disability Services Advisory Board Members.

The Crusader’s Award will have two different categories:
1.) Citizenship Award:
The Citizenship Award will be awarded to an individual whose leadership and dedication have greatly improved the services available to residents in the County of Salem with special needs. The nominee must be a resident of the County of Salem or an individual whose energies are primarily directed towards improving the quality of services for the persons with special needs within the County of Salem.
2.) Community Service Award:
The Community Service Award will be given to a business, corporation, or organization located in or serving the special needs population in the County of Salem. The nominee should be one who has contributed to a better life for citizens with special needs in the County of Salem through on-going programs and/or creative events. This will be awarded to a business, facility, or organization that has shown leadership in serving this population.
Good deeds are performed every day! We encourage everyone to submit a nomination for someone who meets the award criteria. The Crusader Award is an innovative award to recognize the efforts that are often done without the expectation of recognition.

Completed nomination forms must be mailed to Office of Disabilities Services at 98 Market Street, Salem, NJ 08079. Nominee submission deadline is September 19, 2016.
