NJDOT County Aid – FY 2012 (Allegedly open today, Sunday June 26, 2016 )
Resurfacing and Safety Improvements: Pointers-Auburn Road, County Route #540 Township of Mannington, County of Salem detoured road signs in affect during early evening Friday June 24, 2016.
Salem, NJ- The County of Salem gave a Notice to Proceed to South State, Inc. for road construction along a portion of Pointers-Auburn Road, County Route #540 on June 20, 2016. The Project will start at By-Pass Road, County Route #540, near the Salem County Memorial Hospital and end at the intersection of Marshalltown Road, a local road near Moore’s Farm Market. This project is located totally within Mannington Township and is funded as a New Jersey Department of Transportation, FY2012 project for the bid amount of $911,579.34.
Phase one of the Project will involve replacement of drainage structures located north of Nimrod Road and include a short-term detour of traffic during working hours. After several weeks, full construction will then begin, involving milling, paving, guide rail, pavement markings and other safety improvements with the placement of a total detour along Pointers-Auburn Road, County Route #646, Haines Neck Road, County Route #631 and Kings Highway, County Route #620. Emergency vehicles will be allowed to pass through project area during construction and the 911 center will be contacted daily as to construction activities per contract.
The Project is scheduled to be completed within 60 days from Notice to Proceed.
