Pennsville Police Activity released from 4/6-4/7 Drug Arrest, DUI and more

Pennsville Twp. – Pennsville Police have released reports from the last couple days, 04/06-04/07, which include an arrest of a Prospect Park, Pa. male in possession of 57 bags of heroin as well as 9 syringes and charged with Possession of CDS and Possession with Intent to Distribute (among others); a male arrested for Driving While Intoxicated after an alleged accident near Supawna Rd. in which the suspect was involved, but luckily, the other vehicle involved in the accident had minor injuries to the occupants,  another burglary of a home on Benson Avenue where thieves removed and stole copper plumbing of the house valued at $3,000.

On 4/7/15 at approximately 9:47 pm Robert T. Lafferty (M/19) of Prospect Park, Pa., was arrested and charged with Possession of CDS (Heroin) Possession of CDS (Heroin) With Intent to Distribute and Possession of Hypodermic Syringes. A motor vehicle stop was conducted in the area of the Super 8 at which time Lafferty was found to be in possession of fifty seven (57) bags of suspected heroin and nine (9) syringes. Lafferty was processed and remanded to the Salem County Correctional Facility in default $25,000.00 full cash bail.

On 4/7/15 at approximately 5:41 pm Timothy J. Bates (M/64) of Pennsville was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated. Bates was involved in a motor vehicle crash on South Broadway near Supawna Road. Upon officers arrival, Bates was suspected of being under the influence. Bates was also issued traffic tickets for Driving While Suspended and Reckless Driving. There were minor injuries to the driver of the other vehicle. Bates was also found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest and was subsequently remanded to the Salem County Correctional Facility in default of $4,700.00 cash bail.

On 4/7/15 at approximately 4:00 pm Police Officers were dispatched to a residence on Benson Avenue for a Burglary. Upon arrival it was ascertained that forced entry was made into the residence and the copper plumbing was removed which was valued at approximately $3,000.00. Pending further investigation.

On 4/6/15 at approximately 5:08 pm Timothy T. Toomey (M/35) of Pennsville was arrested and charged with Possession of CDS (Prescription Drugs not Prescribed to Him). Police responded to a suspicious person complaint on Harrison Street in Deepwater. Upon arrival, Toomey was located and upon further investigation he was found to be in possession of prescription drugs not prescribed to him. Toomey was processed and released pending court.
