PV Police Arrest Man for Aggravated Assault on Police Officer and more during Drug Bust

PENNSVILLE – On 7/17/14 at approximately 7 pm Gary Carter (M/42) of Salem was arrested and charged with Possession of CDS (Cocaine), Possession of CDS with Intent to Distribute, Resisting Arrest, Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer and Tampering with Evidence.

During a narcotics investigation police obtained information that Carter was going to deliver a quantity of Cocaine to a residence on Grant Street. Police setup surveillance at the residence and upon Carter arriving he was apprehended. During the arrest, officers were assaulted by Carter. The Salem County Prosecutors Office assisted with the investigation.

“Gary Carter has been known to be distributing narcotics in Pennsville for two years and several individuals who were making an attempt to free themselves from addiction have complained that Gary Carter continues to contact them for distribution.”

The Pennsville Police Department will continue to pursue the drug dealers coming to Pennsville but we also want to help the residents that are trying to free themselves from this addiction.”
