March Declared Women’s History Month

The Freeholders of Salem County held their March meeting on the 5th which was opened by Navy Cross recipient Stewart Cross, Freeholder Dale Cross’ father, reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.  Mr. Stewart Cross served in the US Navy from 1950-1954.

During the meeting, the Salem County Freeholder Board presented the Commission on Women President Joan Coal and Vice-President Peggy Kavanaugh with a Proclamation designating March 2014 as Women’s History Month.  Freeholder Beth Timberman was given the honor of presenting these ladies with the award.
