Paul Kranz 25 Years as WHS Drama Director

It is with great pride and enthusiasm that the Woodstown High School community salutes Mr. Paul Kranz as he gets ready to direct his 25th show at Woodstown High School. Mr. Kranz directed his first show in 1990 (How to Succeed in Business) and this year (2014) he will direct Meet Me in St. Louis. This is an outstanding accomplishment and one that the entire community joins with him in celebrating.

During his time as director, Mr. Kranz has worked with many individuals in the school and community to make each production special. Anyone involved in a drama productions knows that it takes a village to direct and produce a musical from all of the various aspects such as costumes, creating the play bill, choreography, set design, lighting, sound, stage crew, as well as music both vocally and instrumentally, and all the other little odds and ends that go into creating a successful musical. Working with a talented team of volunteers and professionals, Mr. Kranz leads all of the various groups from each of the different areas each year and as is always the case the play comes together in grand fashion. Mr. Kranz has stated that this has been a labor of love for him over the past 25 years and without a strong supporting cast none of this would be possible.

Many of Mr. Kranz’s students have gone on to enjoy success in the professional spotlight, some appearing on Broadway, television, movies or behind the scenes as sound engineer, or in some cases producer/director. Mr. Kranz is the first to admit that his longevity and success is due not to his involvement, but to those around him and he would admit that he has been blessed to be able to do this for the past 25 years! He has impacted the lives of so many of the students that he has come in contact with and many of those students still sing his praises today!

Congratulations Mr. Kranz on celebrating 25 years as WHS Drama Director and for positively changing so many young lives during that time! Please join Mr. Kranz and the cast and crew of Meet Me in St. Louis as they celebrate this special milestone.
