The Lakes of Salem County: Quinton Lake aka: Laurel Lake

Quinton Lake, also known as Laurel Lake, is a 32 acre lake that stretches along Waterworks Road and is on the Southeastern side of Route 49 in Quinton Township. The lake’s public parking and car/truck access point is located on along Waterworks Road and is very close to Lake Avenue in Quinton. Its GPS coordinates are 39°32’50,-75°24’16, and you can view the lake on Google Maps by clicking the following link:

Laurel Lake serves as a public lake to fish, take a small boat, and canoe in. It is a tranquil place to spend time with family and friends or even to go be alone with mother nature. A “Car-Top” boat launching area is next to the water pumping station (brick building in pictures below). The lake has no clear spot for lakeside fishing but there are dozens of spots between the trees along Lake Ave. and Waterworks Road that allows you to fish along its banks. Also, no outboard motors are permitted on Quinton Lake. There are only a few spots for public parking along Waterworks Rd. but across Waterworks Road from the boat access area there are plenty more spaces to park.

One thing that was very noticeable and drew our curiosity is the very slight, if any, water runoff from the lake across the new dam which was put there not very long ago.
